The following information was copied directly from the OK SDE site on September 22nd.
How many writing prompts are administered in grade 5 and 8?
In Spring 2012, the writing tests for grade 5 and 8 include two writing prompts to which the studnets must respond. One is the operational prompt that will be scored, the other is the field test prompt. Both prompts are linked to the CCSS for Writing. Students will first read a selected passage and will then respond to a question that relates to the selection. Students may be asked to write a narrative text, an informative/explanatory text, or an opinion/argument based on their writing on text based evidence, details, eventes and or experiences. Students will not receive a score for this field test prompt. What is the date for administering the grades 5 and 8 writing tests?
For spring 2013, the statewide writing dates are Tuesday and Wednesday Feb. 26-27. Students across the state should be tested on Tuesday, 2-26-13 for the operational prompt with Wednesday, 2-27-13 used for make ups and administering the field test prompt.
